National Fish and Chip Day takes place on Friday 27th May - and we’re delighted to be celebrating this important event in the industry calendar!

At KTC Edibles, we’re passionate about showing our support for fish and chip shops, and think this is a great opportunity for outlets across the UK to showcase what they are doing and attract new customers.

Established in 2015 - the event has gone from strength to strength, with the hashtag #nationalfishandchipday securing the number 1 spot all day on Twitter from 8am last year!

The demonstrates the day’s popularity - and it’s great to see the British public get involved and support their local chippy by buying a bite to eat and sharing the love over social media.

We hope that this year it’s bigger and better than ever, and can’t wait to see how chippies across the country choose to mark the occasion!

National Fish and Chip Day – A Brief History

National Fish and Chip Day was created by the National Edible Oil Distributors’ Association (NEODA) following the suggestion of one of the finalist businesses of the National Fish & Chip Awards in 2015.

NEODA members have an excellent relationship with the industry and this day further cements their connection, with many members raising awareness through financial support, prizes and engaging with fish and chip shops from around the country.

The day presents an excellent opportunity to drive footfall to local fish and chip businesses. National Fish and Chip Day is a fun way of ensuring that the traditional dish gets the recognition it deserves, all whilst supporting a wide range of local businesses in a time when they need it the most.
